The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts presents Suenos: Contemporary Latin American Art open through January 23, 2011.
The works selected for this exhibition are informed by the artist’s understanding of world cultures. They are cross cultural conveyors of ideas, each with a connection to Latin America. The works vary in style subject matter and media. Several artists present autobiographical ruminations while others derive their images from cultural histories and traditions. Emotional landscapes, iconic images, political and spiritual reflection present a global perspective. Featuring international artists Henry Bermudez, Rodriguez Calero, Cesar Cornejo, Alfonso Corpus, Alejandro Mendoza, Soledad Salame, Marta Sanchez, and Alex Queral.
