National Galleries of Scotland Presents The Young Vermeer History, Stories, Questions

The National Galleries of Scotland present The Young Vermeer – History, Stories, Questions on Tuesday, 18th January 2011 at 12.45 1.30pm in the Hawthornden Lecture Theatre.

Dr Tico Seifert, Senior Curator at the National Gallery and curator of The Young Vermeer exhibition, focuses on the three paintings extant from the early career of Johannes Vermeer van Delft (1632-1675).

The talk will introduce the artist and the paintings in their historical context, tell stories about their respective re-discoveries and recent conservation, and pose questions still to be answered.
