Join fellow members in celebrating the opening of Marc Castelli: The Art of the Waterman, The Simison Collection, with a special Members Reception and Meet the Artist, followed by a State of the Museum address with remarks by Museum President Langley Shook and Chief Curator Pete Lesher. Join the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s after school drama program, Lighthouse Players, this winter! Each participant will have a chance to work on set design, costumes, and acting, and all will perform scenes in the last session from Gilbert Byron’s Chesapeake classic “The Lord’s Oysters” for friends and family.
• Offered through the St. Michaels Community Center grades 6,7, 8.
• Limit 10 students, cost $60 per student.

The Saturdays for Kids program offers two hours of fun-filled and creative hands-on games, arts and crafts, and storytelling. Small classes and age-appropriate projects facilitate the learning process and offer kids a special place and opportunity for early engagement in building a love of the Chesapeake Bay and the region. Apprentice for a Day Public Boat Building Program
Saturdays & Sundays, January 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30

Individual classes are $35 for Members; $45 non-members
Four session ‘Journeyman’s Special’ $125 for members; $170 non-members
Learn traditional Chesapeake boat building techniques under the direction of a CBMM shipwright. Participants will be constructing a 16’ Rushton double ended rowboat “Florida Model.” Be a part of the whole 17-week process, or just sign up for specific dates.
The ‘Journeyman’s Special’ package includes any four days for one reduced price and can diversify the experience to include several different skills. Participants must be age 16 or older, unless accompanied by an adult.
