The Putnam County Museum presents an exhibition Burkett Pottery Collection. The collection includes a variety of ceramic works donated by the artist and Putnam residents.
“We are excited about featuring Richard Burkett’s pottery as a consolidated collection of his works in a new case. We are thankful to Lucille Burkett for her generosity that made the new display possible,” comments Tanis Monday, the Museum Director.
The mission of the Putnam County Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the county and its people through education, exhibits and special programs.
The Museum’s permanent collection of nearly 2,000 Putnam County related artifacts offers the county residents and visitors a historical overview of the county, including its significance during the Civil War and a glimpse into everyday life of Putnam residents in the past. The Museum also showcases the Putnam County contemporary artists in revolving exhibits, featuring at least one new artist every month.
