The Seneca County Museum first opened its doors in 1943. In 1942, Mr. Lynn Troxel, Sr. donated the home of his parents to Seneca County to be used as a museum. The Greek Revival home was built by Tiffin’s first millionaire, Rezin Shawhan in 1853. The house originally had six rooms and a carriage house. Currently there are 18 rooms and most exhibits pertain to Seneca County.
