Opening in June 2011, a 10,000-square-foot temporary exhibition will debut at The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. It’s a fitting date, as 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the first demonstration of powered flight in Fort Worth. And while the exhibition will represent only a small fraction of the larger Air & Space Museum to come, it will be an exciting attraction in its own right.
Visitors will retrace the steps of the pioneering aviators, scientists and engineers who made North Texas one of the world’s premier aerospace hubs. Turning to the modern day, the interactive exhibition will showcase the creativity and innovations found in today’s hi-tech aircraft, and challenge visitors to design and test their very own flying machines.
