Helmut Newton Foundation Extends Alice Springs Exhibition

The Helmut Newton Foundation extended it’s ‘Alice Springs’ Exhibition until 15 May 2011.

With the exhibition ‘alice springs’, the berlin-based helmut newton foundation has been presenting the first retrospective of june newton on an international basis. in 1970 june began her own photographic career under the pseudonym alice springs. her work has been exhibited regularly at the helmut newton foundation since 2005, namely in “june’s room.” the current retrospective in berlin showcases a selection of of approximately 250 works – a comprehensive look at the four decades that span her work, including advertising and fashion photographs as well as nudes, and above all portraits.

Since its opening in june 2004, the helmut newton foundation has welcomed more than 800 000 visitors. due to the huge success of the current show, the ‘alice springs’ exhibition will now be on view until 15th may 2011. after that, it will be presented at the kestnergesellschaft in hanover from november 24th, 2011 to february 2nd, 2012.

To mark the occasion of the exhibition, a trilingual publication has been published by taschen. it is available exclusively at the könig/taschen bookstore at the museum of photography/helmut newton foundation.
