Chemung Valley History Museum Presents Facing the Wall

The Chemung Valley History Museum presents Facing The Wall on Saturday, January 22 at 1 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Facing the Wall is a documentary that explores the history and ongoing relationship between Elmira and the Chemung River. The project explores the events that helped shape Elmira, including the Sullivan-Clinton Campaign during the Revolutionary War, the growth of transportation systems and industrial development and, of course, the Flood of 1972. Ultimately, the film is an optimistic look at how Elmirans are working together to build a better community. Facing the Wall was made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts’ Decentralization Program, administered locally by the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

The documentary was written and produced by Rich La Vere.
