National Technical Museum in Prague Reopens

The National Technical Museum in Prague reopens on Tuesday after being closed for renovations.

The National Technical Museum was founded in 1908 and is the biggest Czech institution specializing in technical museum exhibits. It gathers collections of material evidence of technological developments, industry, transport, architecture, and both Czech and foreign scientific reseach. There are single copies in the collections of the National Technical Museum such as astronomical appliances from the 16th century used by Tycho de Brahe, the first Czech automobile or one of the oldest daguerretypes in the world. The museum’s collections also include an extensive history archive of technology, science, industry, architecture, civil engineering, and a library.
