The Stamford Museum and Nature Center hosts First County Bank Maple Sugar Sunday on March 6 11 am – 3 pm.
A sweet tradition and family favorite returns to SM&NC! The annual family event focusing on the deeply-rooted New England tradition of maple sugaring will provide plenty to do for the whole family, including tasting many sweet maple syrup treats. Visitors can see maple sugar and tree tapping demonstrations, make a maple-themed craft, enjoy the popular pancake brunch and go on a scavenger hunt.
Additionally, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite maple syrup recipe in the second annual Chef’s Challenge. Marcia Selden Catering & Event Planning will go head-to-head against David’s Soundview Catering from noon to 1:30 pm. These local chefs will compete to create the best tasting recipe, as judged by the public, using maple syrup as an ingredient.
