The program celebrates Texas History Month by identifying and exploring historical events that shaped the state and national identity of Texas. Sarah Boehme will discuss how art, science, and warfare came together during the U.S. and Mexican War and the resulting boundary surveys. The talk will explore a tale of national expansion, governmental bureaucracy and individual accomplishment.

“With people’s busy lives these days, we wanted to offer an educational program that would be convenient and time-efficient, so we are scheduling a talk during a lunch. This program gives us the chance to explore the interesting history behind paintings and rare books related to the establishment of the United States boundary with Mexico, while enjoying a delicious meal prepared by the Café,” said Sarah Boehme.

More information on the program, including the Café menu, can be found on the Museum’s web site, under Education, Programs, Lunch and Look. This event has limited seating; for those wishing to attend, lunch orders must be placed and confirmed by Friday, March 25 at 5:00 p.m. To order a box lunch and reserve a seat, call 409.670.0805 or email [email protected] A confirmed lunch order serves as the reservation for this presentation.
