Windermere Steamboat Museum‎ Seeks Heritage Lottery Fund Award

The Windermere Steamboat Museum & Historic Boat Collection, situated on the shores of Lake Windermere, has successfully passed the first round of a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) bid.

The HLF has endorsed the outline proposal, believing that the £10 million project has the potential to deliver high-quality benefits and value for money.

The HLF has awarded the Lakeland Arts Trust (LAT) £494,000 development funding to enable the Trust to continue its plans for the redevelopment of the Museum and the historic collection of boats. The Trust has up to two years to develop and submit the final proposals to the HLF to compete for a firm award of £7.4 million.
