Put your boat handling skills to the test in the 2011 Battle of the Boats held by the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort on Monday, May 30.
From 11 a.m.-noon, participants will maneuver their boat through a course along the docks of the Museum’s Gallants Channel site on West Beaufort Road. The race kicks off the Museum’s annual Maritime Day, held until 2 p.m.
“This will be a race against the clock with one contestant at a time maneuvering their vessel through the course,” said Brent Creelman, Director of Operations for the Friends of the Museum. “The course is designed intentionally to gauge the skill of the boat driver and not the all out speed of the various boats.”
