The Arizona State University Art Museum (ASU) presents its 12th Annual Summer Family Exhibition Words of Art: Selections from the ASU Art Museum Collection, on view through Sep 3, 2011.
Visit the ASU Art Museum’s summer exhibition Words of Art to see how the written word is teamed up with a variety of visual arts. Hands-on activities throughout the exhibition inspire children through reading, writing and, of course, art.
Our annual Family Fun Day brings the family exhibition even more to life. This free event is scheduled for July 9, 2011, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and features art making projects, performances and a visit from a PBS character from Eight/KAET.
Support for this family exhibition and event is provided by the Windgate Charitable Foundation, ASU Art Museum Advisory Board, Friends of the ASU Art Museum, the Scottsdale League for the Arts, Tempe Municipal Arts Commission, Valley Metro, Eight/KAET and Changing Hands Bookstore.
The exhibition is organized by Rory O’Neill Schmitt, Windgate intern, and Jean Makin, print collection manager, with educational outreach organized by Andrea Feller, curator of education.
The ASU Art Museum is an integral part of the ASU Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. The inventive ASU Art Museum serves a diverse community of artists and audiences through innovative programming that is interdisciplinary, educational and relevant to life today.
