The Oakland Museum of California is hosting a special cheese-making event. Watch demos of making queso fresco, stretching mozzarella, making a cheese sculpture, and how to crack open of a huge wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. Witness the power of the pedal as Oakland bike enthusiasts churn ice cream with pedal power. Hear short talks about the founding of the famous Bay Area collective, the Cheeseboard, the role of women in traditional cheese crafting, and the many varieties of fake cheese.
Cheese is the third of four events produced by the Oakland Standard in collaboration with Greenhorns, a national organization that recruits, promotes, and supports young farmers in America.
Included with Museum admission. Free to OMCA Members. For more information, visit museumca.org/theoaklandstandard
