The Academy Art Museum presents Focus On Flowers: The Photography of Richard Paul Weiblinger, on view through AUGUST 28, 2011.
Richard Paul Weiblinger is an avid nature photographer and his favorite topics include macro images, landscapes and flowers; color is a major focus of his work and many of his pieces are chromatically strong.
He uses creative lighting in many of his images, not simply illuminating his subject, giving them somewhat surreal quality. Weiblinger lives in Laurel, Maryland and is presently on the staff of the United States Food and Drug Administration. He graduated from the University of Maryland and the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
