The Museum of Idaho presents A Grateful Nation: A Look Back at World War II a new exhibition on view Sept. 30 – Nov. 26, 2011.
As the 70th anniversary of the United States entry into World War II approaches, this exhibit commemorates the courage of those who fought on the battlefield to defend our freedoms and the commitment of those on the home-front who fought to keep our troops equipped and strong.
Presented by Westmark Credit Union, visitors will experience the personal stories of local soldiers and civilians who served their country with courage and faith in their resolve to win in the struggle against tyranny. Included in the exhibit are period weapons & equipment, and more importantly, the cherished memories and mementos of some of the darkest days on the planet.
The Museum of Idaho is a non-profit organization and is the intermountain west’s premier museum in bringing exceptional exhibits to the public forefront. We are dedicated to preserving and showcasing the sciences, the humanities, and the natural and cultural history while also providing new experiences and unique educational opportunities.
