Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center Chosen as First International Tour Stop for OFFF, Famed Post Digital Creative Festival

CINCINNATI, OH – OFFF, an internationally acclaimed creative festival based in Barcelona, has selected Cincinnati – recently named a “Hub of Innovation and Opportunity”– as the first international location for OFFF on Tour. OFFF Cincinnati aims to peel back the limits of conventional thought revealing the future of the creative process, proposing the question: What does the future look like?

OFFF Cincinnati, scheduled for Oct. 27-28, 2011, will focus on creative collaboration and inspiration and will attract well-known and respected designers, inventors, filmmakers, artists, illustrators and technologists from across the city, region and world. OFFF Cincinnati is presented by the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) and OFFF. HyperQuake (HQ) was chosen by the CAC as the creative and strategic partner for OFFF Cincinnati, creating the identity, website, mobile app and digital art installation that will be on display the days of the event.

The event will include a kick-off reception, intimate panel conversation with the keynote speakers, workshops and an opportunity to participate in a unique interactive mobile application (app) and installation experience.

OFFF, which started in 2001, has been held in Barcelona, Paris, New York, Sao Paulo, Lisbon and Oeiras, Portugal. OFFF On Tour launched in May to extend its celebration of the most relevant artists of our time. It will only travel to a select handful of cities around the world and Cincinnati was chosen as the debut, marking the launch of the tour outside of Spain.

OFFF founder Hector Ayuso explains, “When we thought about starting a tour, we knew Cincinnati would be the right place to launch. The Contemporary Arts Center is the perfect fit. They are an inspirational hub that encourages innovation and creativity. They are a place where curious people can come together, play and create without limits. HyperQuake has done an amazing job harnessing the energy and spirit that OFFF is famous for, and they represent the kind of exciting, artistic talent that resides in Cincinnati.”

“The fact that the OFFF founders chose the CAC and Cincinnati as the first North American stop on its tour speaks volumes about our reputation as a center for creativity and innovation,” said Raphaela Platow, CAC Director. “We’re grateful to be working with HyperQuake. They have been an invaluable partner to the CAC and instrumental to OFFF Cincinnati’s inevitable success.”

HyperQuake is developing a first-of-its-kind mobile app for OFFF in order to create an engaging experience for attendees that will elevate their involvement in the festival. Attendees will participate in a game, before and during the event, which will lead to a unique installation experience at the festival. HQ is working with Lightborne, Inc. to bring to life the interactive, real-time installation at the CAC.

“We’ll reveal the details at the kick-off the first night” said Colin Crotty, chief operating officer at HyperQuake. “We’re really excited about this opportunity to unite those attending the festival in a way that will be fun, interactive and showcase the type of native talent that makes Cincinnati’s creative community so strong.”
