The celebration starts out with family programming throughout the building as part of Free First Saturday, 10 am–3 pm. The day also features member discount shopping, cooking demonstrations with Gather by D’Amico Executive Chef Josh Brown, and British snacks and libations in Gather and the Walker Pub.
Gallery admission is free during Wall-to-Wall Walker for all current exhibitions including the recently opened Graphic Design: Now in Production and Dance Works I: Merce Cunningham/Robert Rauschenberg shows. The day turns to eve with screenings of the British Arrows Awards (formerly the British Television Advertising Awards). Advance ticket purchase recommended.
During Wall–to–Wall Walker visitors can experience every aspect of the building from galleries and restaurants, to the Cinema, theater, and Walker Shop. A custom scavenger hunt has been created to aid tours. Those familiar with the Walker and first time visitors will both enjoy this ultimate sampling of one of the Twin Cities cultural gems.
