UW Museology Grad Program Teams with The Museum of Flight with Education Programs

SEATTLE – On Thursday, December 1, The Museum of Flight will turn into a classroom for students in the University of Washington Museology program’s museum education course. As part of their coursework, students have designed and developed a series of innovative and interactive education programs to be premiered at The Museum of Flight during the monthly Wells Fargo Free First Thursday evening event.

The students’ interactive programs cover a range of topics, including subjects such as the history of aircraft nose art to the story of the Museum’s Coast Guard helicopter to the stories of the night sky. The programs will be presented during the early hours of the 5 to 9 p.m. Wells Fargo First Free Thursday event and are open to visitors of all ages.

Participation and feedback are welcomed and encouraged.

Once a month, the Museum stays open late – and admission is free. Enjoy the Museum’s Great Gallery, Personal Courage Wing, Red Barn and more from 5 to 9 p.m., courtesy of Wells Fargo. Museum Store and Wings Café will also remain open for the extended hours on this night.

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field half-way between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors 65 and older, $13 for active military, $9 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available. Admission on the first Thursday of the month is free from 5 to 9 p.m. courtesy of Wells Fargo.
