The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston new Arts of Japan Gallery opens on Feb. 17, 2012 with a temporary exhibition of objects on loan from the Tokyo National Museum. Among the 25 works to be displayed, eight are classified by Japan as national treasures or “important cultural property,” on view at the MFAH for eight weeks.
Located in the heart of Houston’s Museum District, the MFAH is a dynamic cultural complex comprising two gallery buildings, a sculpture garden, visitors center, library, movie theater, gift shop, café, two art schools, and two house museums. – www.mfah.org
