The Lentos Art Museum in Linz, presents Car Culture an exhibition on view 2 March to 4 July 2012.
The motorcar, cult object and symbol of individual freedom, is the quintessential expression not only of mobility but of lifestyle and affluence.
The LENTOSs Great Hall is transformed into a parking lot where vehicles with an artistic difference meet up for a rendez-vous: motorcars as sculptures, conceived and/or realized by artists. The show underlines the social, economic and artistic relevance of the car cult from an original, critical and thoroughly entertaining artistic perspective.
The exhibition was conceived by the ZKM Karlsruhe to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the motor car in 2011. – www.lentos.at
