The Tel Aviv Museum presents UTOPIAS ON PAPER II German Expressionism. Prints and Drawings from the Museum Collection, on view from Monday 12 March 2012.
The many voices within Expressionism believed in the healing power of subjective emotional expression, regarded it as “existence’s true foundation” and moved in various directions to expose a society and culture in crisis. The second part of the exhibition focuses on the Expressionists’ attitude to modernism and urban reality, through popular and high culture, and on their position on printed-reproduced art and cinema, which suited their aim at a wide distribution. – www.tamuseum.com
