Ogden Museum of Southern Art presents CC Lockwood. Photographs from the Permanent Collection

The Ogden Museum of Southern Art presents CC Lockwood. Photographs from the Permanent Collection, an exhibition on view through July 23, 2012.

CC Lockwood, Flat Lake Sunset

CC Lockwood’s color photographs of the nature and wildlife of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast include the photograph, Flat Lake Sunset, which was selected by the U.S. Postal Service as the image for the official Louisiana Bicentennial commemorative stamp.

The mission of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, University of New Orleans, is to broaden the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and culture of the American South through its permanent collections, changing exhibitions, educational programs, publications, research center, and its Goldring-Woldenberg Institute for the Advancement of Southern Art and Culture. To that end, the museum will collect, conserve, exhibit, study, and interpret the art of the South within the context of the region’s history and culture.

The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, University of New Orleans, is located in the Warehouse District, just off Lee Circle, directly across the street from the Contemporary Arts Center, near the National World War II Museum. The galleries of the New Orleans Arts District are within walking distance, as is the Louisiana Children’s Museum.
