Jazz at LACMA Launches New Broadcast Series

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s (LACMA) renowned concert series, Jazz at LACMA, will launch a new broadcast series with KJazz 88.1 FM on May 13, 2012. Airing every Sunday from 7-9 pm, this weekly series will feature performances from LACMA’s live jazz concerts, along with interview segments with the musicians. The Jazz at LACMA broadcast series is supported by KJazz Radio 88.1 FM and made possible through the support of the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.

The broadcast kicks off with legendary guitarist Kenny Burrell, accompanied by the Los Angeles Jazz Orchestra Unlimited, which took place at LACMA on April 27. Other highlights from this year’s spring line-up include saxophonist Bob Mintzer with keyboardist Russell Ferrante, vocalist Ernie Andrews, drummer Alphonse Mouzon, bassist John B. Williams, and saxophonist Ernie Watts.
