Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen announces Rejina Pyo exhibition

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen presents an exhibition of work by Rejina Pyo winner of the Han Nefkens Fashion Award 2012. From 29 September Pyo’s collection ‘Structural Mode’ will be on view in the Willem van der Vorm gallery and in the Richard Serra Room.

A special jury – Viktor & Rolf, Penny Martin, Han Nefkens and José Teunissen – selected Pyo as the winner. The prize consists of an autumn presentation in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in 2012 and prize money of 25,000 Euro, of which 15,000 Euro is intended as a commission for the exhibition. This biennal prize was this year aimed at fashion designers in non-Western and lesser known European countries.

Rejina Pyo is a Korean born fashion designer based in London. Immediately after graduating from her MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins she was taken on by Roksanda Illincic to work at her eponymous label as first assistant designer. She also collaborated with the H&M owned ‘Weekday’, creating a range of designs based on her MA collection that are sold across Europe in their chain of stores.
