Contemporary Jewish Museum presents California Conversations: Author Frances Dinkelspiel a talk on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1 – 2:30 pm.
Frances Dinkelspiel, author of Towers of Gold: How One Jewish Immigrant Named Isaias Hellman Created California, discusses her family’s historical and philanthropic legacy in San Francisco including her family’s more recent involvement in the protection of independent media, including Warren Hellman’s work with The Bay Citizen and her own involvement with the creation of the independent news site Berkeleyside.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition California Dreaming: Jewish Life in the Bay Area from the Gold Rush to the Present.
