This display explores some of the controls in place to ensure a safe and successful celebration of sport.
Today, staff at UK Border Agency, Border Force and HM Revenue and Customs, work nationally and internationally, to meet the demands of staging the event in the 21st Century.
The scale and control of the 2012 event contrasts with the last time London hosted the Games in 1948. Then, the country was just emerging from world war. Basic materials were in short supply. Athletes moving between venues would travel through a bomb damaged city. – www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk
