Art Works for Change announces Nature’s Toolbox. Biodiversity, Art and Invention

Art Works for Change presents Nature’s Toolbox. Biodiversity, Art and Invention, an innovative international traveling exhibition by the nonprofit Art Works for Change featuring contemporary artwork by 38 renowned artists from around the world. Inspired by nature as the ultimate resource for innovations that promote an ecologically secure and sustainable future, the show’s eye-capturing art helps visitors understand and appreciate the life-or-death interdependence between the 10–20 million species on earth—including humans—and the quality of life we enjoy.

Nature’s Toolbox seeks to go beyond mere appreciation of the natural world by engaging audiences in an exploration and revelation of the Earth’s remarkable genius and creativity, developed over the last 3.8 billion years. The show pays artistic, scientific, and technological tribute to nature as both the ultimate teacher and “research and development” laboratory, which has provided us with a deep reservoir of wisdom and information, from how to design products, buildings and systems, to how to provide food, clean water and breathable air.

Nature’s Toolbox uses the medium of art in correlation with science as a powerful catalyst for creating awareness, engaging communities, and encouraging individual and collective action. Through the artworks, artists share their stories of a changing world, offering a hopeful vision and fresh solutions based on human creativity and nature-inspired design. Nature’s Toolbox is a celebration of both biodiversity and human ingenuity—a vision where humans aren’t just part of the problem but also the solution: by harnessing nature’s most brilliant ideas, we can improve the quality of human life while living in harmony with nature.
