MoMA PS1 is hosting two major events in December to raise needed funds for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts: a special Sunday Sessions, featuring performances in the VW Dome at MoMA PS1, co-presented with Pitchfork (December 2) and a benefit in Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach, co-hosted with Volkswagen (December 7).
Additional Sunday Sessions programs this month include a day of collaborative performances and experimental films presented by Riot of Perfume magazine and a panel discussion organized by Tom Tom Magazine (December 9); and a festival honoring the Italian artist and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini, featuring screenings, performances, readings, and lectures celebrating his influence as a poet, writer, political activist, and public figure (December 16).

A classically trained soprano, as a teenager Holly Herndon immersed herself in Berlin’s techno music scene. Since returning to the States, she has created a sound that hybridizes her modern composition training and an undying devotion to club music, using instruments and her own processed vocals.
Ducktails is the one-man psychedelic pop project of Matthew Mondanile, guitarist for the well-known band Real Estate. Caught between genres, Ducktails attempts to realize a shared cultural memory and nostalgia within its highly visual compositions.
