Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art presents Art Under Pressure, an exhibition on view December 21 through April 22, 2013.
This exhibition features selected works from an important collection of 468 American prints, produced mostly between 1925 and 1945, that was recently acquired for Crystal Bridges’ permanent collection. The exhibition includes iconic images by Thomas Hart Benton, Edward Hopper, Rockwell Kent, Reginald Marsh, Charles Sheeler, and James Abbott McNeill Whistler, and features works in all of the major printmaking media: drypoint, etching, engraving, lithography, screenprint, woodcut, and wood engraving. – www.crystalbridges.org
