Victoria and Albert Museum cancels Napalm Death concert

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London has canceled a concert by band Napalm Death, fearing the noise level could damage the museum’s building.

“A further safety inspection has revealed concerns that the high level of decibels generated by the concert would damage the historic fabric of the building,” a museum statement said.

Napalm Death are a grindcore band formed in Birmingham, England in 1981. Napalm Death are credited with defining the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of hardcore punk and death metal, short songs, fast tempos, deep guttural vocals and sociopolitical lyrics.
