On March 22 the Science Museum in London welcomed its three millionth visitors of the year and celebrated the highest number of annual visitors to the Museum since complete records began.
A surprise welcome by the Museum’s Deputy Director Heather Mayfield greeted the 3 millionth visitors on arrival at the Museum. Anthony and Abigail Kirwan from Newbury, Berkshire were presented with flowers and gifts to mark this special occasion.
The Museum’s previous highest figure of 2.92 million visitors was recorded during the 2011-12 financial year. Visitor numbers continue to rise at the Science Museum thanks to award winning new exhibitions such as Codebreaker – Alan Turing’s Life and Legacy, innovative events including a zombie festival and special displays such as the world’s first Bionic Man.
