The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) announce the appointment of their new Executive Director Elysia Borowy-Reeder. Borowy-Reeder, a Getty Museum Leadership Fellow and Michigan native, was most recently the Executive Director of the Contemporary Art Museum Raleigh and has worked at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. With a curatorial background, strong educational foundation, and over a decade of experience in arts management, communications, and education, Borowy-Reeder will provide adept leadership at the seven-year-old non-collecting institution.
Borowy-Reeder will assume her post on April 8, 2013.
