The Georgia Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA is seeking volunteers to greet visitors in its hangars and buildings and help with aircraft restoration. “Volunteers do not have to be retired military and can be men or women over the age of 17,” says Dan Hart, Museum Volunteer Coordinator. “We’re especially looking for volunteers in our buildings on the weekends but also during the week. In aircraft restoration we’d like people who are skilled in corrosion control and structural repair to volunteer Monday through Friday.”
The Museum of Aviation greets over 450,000 visitors a year and has four display and exhibit buildings open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Building volunteer shifts are 9:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm. “But if a person can’t work a regular shift,” said Hart, “we’re also interested in volunteers who could work occasionally as stand-bys.” For building volunteers contact Dan Hart at 478 926-4242 or email [email protected]. For aircraft restoration volunteers contact Tony Faircloth at (478) 222-7579 or [email protected].
