The Bell Museum of Natural History presents Dig It! The Secrets of Soil an exhibition on view through July 28, 2013.

In a world that depends on soil to sustain life, most humans still know relatively little about soil’s role and why we need this precious resource. Through interactive displays, photography and hands-on activity, visitors can dig into the fascinating world below their feet. Free with museum admission

A good garden is dependent on good soils, but what does that mean? Here’s your chance to get your hands dirty and plan for the spring gardening season. Dive into compost and take a close look at whats going on under a microscope. Visit the garden soil petting zoo and meet loam.
