Museum of Modern Art 2013 Party in the Garden

The Museum of Modern Art’s Party in the Garden, a benefit event to be held on May 21, will honor Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the City of New York and artists Ellsworth Kelly and Cindy Sherman, in recognition of their support of MoMA. The event also celebrates the 90th birthday of Mr. Kelly. Co-Chairs of the event are Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller, Alisa and Dan Doctoroff, Agnes Gund, Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder, and Jack Shear. Honorary co-chairs are Marie-Josée Kravis and Jerry I. Speyer. The Party in the Garden is generously sponsored by Cartier.

2013 Party in the GardenThe Party in the Garden will feature a live musical performance by the band fun., whose platinum album, Some Nights, earned fun. six nominations at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, with the band winning two of the top awards—“Song of the Year” and “Best New Artist.” Some Nights was also named one of the top albums of the year by Rolling Stone, Spin, NPR, and Entertainment Weekly, who also named fun. one of their “Entertainers of the Year.” The performance will take place in MoMA’s Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden as part of the gala’s After-Party, which goes from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.
The Party in the Garden benefits The Annual Fund of The Museum of Modern Art and the maintenance of The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. The party also benefits the Museum’s general operating fund, helping to make possible the Museum’s educational programs and the care, study, and exhibition of its collection.

Tables to the dinner range from $25,000 to $100,000, with individual tickets beginning at $2,500. Tickets to the After Party from 9:00 p.m. to midnight are $200 in advance and $300 at the door. VIP tickets for the After-Party are $500, which grants the ticketholder access to the Museum’s Terrace 5 Lounge from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.
