Stadel Museum opens garden season

The garden area around the museum building offers a variety of fascinating works of art the opportunity to make unique discoveries in the open.

Newly acquired, installations, interactive works in part by Olaf Nicolai, Tobias Rehberger, Jan Svenungsson and Janet Cardiff & George Bures Miller occur while in dialogue with existing, newly positioned sculptures by artists such as Michael Wotruba or croissant. Also, Per Kirkeby (Gate II, 1987) and Markus Lüpertz (Shepherd, 1986) are represented with recently acquired and established the Städel garden plants. The new arrangement of garden sculptures presented at the Städel collection opens up surprising vistas. The new Städel garden with striking skylights, the face side of the garden shed is connected by unusual visual axes of the busiest rear garden. The opening ceremony of the “Sculpture Garden at the Städel” simultaneously forms the prelude to the newly launched series “The Städel garden”, are shown in the frame immediately performative and installation works by various artists.
