The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) will unveil the Bezos Center for Innovation, on October 12.
Announced for the first time in August 2011, the Bezos Center is the result of more than two years of research, planning, and design, and is generously supported by Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos. Featuring interactive experiences and special insights from some of Seattle’s leading innovators, the Bezos Center will teach visitors about the importance of innovation and celebrate Seattle as the birthplace of so many trailblazing companies.
A focus on engaging young people is at the core of the Center’s purpose and mission. By illustrating stories of invention in tangible, relatable ways, MOHAI hopes to instill a sense of possibility and discovery in the region’s youth. The Bezos Center’s exhibits and programs put students in direct contact with a shared history of innovation, and will explore how a great idea can become reality.
To celebrate the opening of the Bezos Center for Innovation, MOHAI will host a series of exciting events, including a special MOHAI Member Preview on Friday, October 11. The Bezos Center will be opened to the public with festivities and special programming on Saturday, October 12. The opening of the Bezos Center for Innovation will be the highlight of MOHAI’s programs and events for the fall. www.mohai.org
