Museum of Modern Art names Roxana Marcoci as Senior Curator of Photography

Glenn D. Lowry, Director of The Museum of Modern Art, announces that Roxana Marcoci has been promoted to Senior Curator in MoMA’s Department of Photography. Ms. Marcoci joined the Museum in 1999 as the Janice H. Levin Fellow/Curatorial Assistant in the Department of Painting and Sculpture, subsequently joining the Department of Photography in 2003 as Assistant Curator, and being promoted to Associate Curator in 2005, and to Curator in 2007. She currently also chairs the Museum’s Modern Women’s Fund Committee, and the Central and Eastern European group, part of the Contemporary and Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) in a Global Age.

Roxana Marcoci holds a PhD in Art History, Theory and Criticism from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. In 2011, she completed a fellowship at the Center for Curatorial Leadership. She is currently visiting professor in the graduate program at Yale University School of Arts.
