In making the bags, participants will incorporate all the primary skills needed to make and repair sails, while creating a keepsake to take home from the workshop. Traditionally, ditty bags hold the tools needed for the marlin spike arts, which is the art of splicing lines, knot-making, and hand work (sewing canvas). The general contents of the ditty bag vary, but most sailors use them to keep small tools, equipment, and personal items.
The cost is $65 for CBMM members or $85 for non-members, which includes all the materials needed in creating the ditty bag. Pre-registration is required by calling Boatyard Program Manager Jenn Kuhn at 410-745-4980 or [email protected].
