Hyde Collection de Blasiis Chamber Music Series

The Hyde Collection presents The Alturas Duo as part of it’s de Blasiis Chamber Music Series on Sunday, November 17 at 2 pm.

Hailed as playing with “…Marvelous virtuosity…” by the Washington Post, this unique duo performs an eclectic mix of South American and classical music, with the unusual combination of the viola, charango, and guitar. They create a passionate music that moves with ease between the Baroque, South American folk rhythms, and new pieces written especially for them. The name Alturas (Spanish for heights) is borrowed from the poem Alturas de Macchu Picchu by Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda (1904 – 1973).

All concerts begin at 2 pm in the Helen Froehlich Auditorium at The Hyde Collection.

Admission: $25 for single admission at the door; $5 for students with ID. For additional information or reservations call David Bullard, artistic director, at 518-792-2383 or visit www.deblasiis-chamber-music.org
