The National Museum of Natural History will open a first-of-its-kind interactive environment for teens Dec. 12. Q?rius (pronounced “curious”), is a new way to connect science with the everyday teen experiences. The new 10,000-square-foot Silver LEED certified space combines the newest technologies and scientific equipment with more than 6,000 authentic museum objects. Interactions with the museum’s experts are designed to inspire teens’ curiosity and excitement about the natural world.
Remarks will be followed by a demonstration of the unique capability of the 100-seat theater in Q?rius to host live feeds to research field sites across the globe and the opportunity to experience Q?rius hosted by more than 25 Museum of Natural History youth ambassadors.
