Santa Arrives Via Airplane and Caspar Babypants Entertains Dec. 14

“Santa’s Landing Party” includes children’s concert with Seattle legend

SEATTLE – “Santa’s Landing Party” at The Museum of Flight begins Saturday morning, Dec. 14, with a children’s concert and the fly-in arrival of Santa Claus. At 10:30 a.m. in the Museum, legendary Seattle musician Caspar Babypants (a.k.a. Chris Ballew from the band Presidents of the United States of America), will perform a 45-minute concert for children. At 11:45 the jolly Mr. Claus and his wife will arrive via a classic de Havilland Beaver bush plane. After greeting well-wishers outside, the red velvet couple will hear children’s holiday wishes inside of the Museum until 4 p.m.

The museum galleries will also ring with holiday music by the Boeing Concert Orchestra beginning at 12:30 p.m. Outdoor events free, indoor events free with admission to the Museum.

The Museum will be closed on Christmas.

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5 on Boeing Field half-way between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and older, $15 for active military, $10 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available. Admission on the first Thursday of the month is free from 5 to 9 p.m. courtesy of Wells Fargo. McCormick & Schmick’s Wings Café is on site.
