National Museum of Wildlife Art honored for consistently outstanding visitor reviews

Jackson Hole, Wyoming – Just in time for family vacation season, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, a favorite stop on many Yellowstone road trips – and already rated TripAdvisor’s #1 Jackson Hole attraction – has received the 2014 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site. The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews. “The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers,” says Marc Charron, President of TripAdvisor for Business.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled,” says Jim McNutt, president and CEO of the National Museum of Wildlife Art. “We strive to consistently provide a visitor experience that exceeds expectations, from important exhibitions such as the just-opened Charles M. Russell show and events like our upcoming June Plein Air Fest to hands-on kids’ activities and our extensive permanent collection. So this TripAdvisor honor is especially significant because it’s based on the opinions of our visitors.”

The National Museum of Wildlife Art’s many family-friendly offerings include an outdoor art venue, the ¾-mile Sculpture Trail, that’s free and open to the public year-round, and a self-directed kids’ activity area, the Children’s Discovery Gallery. Current exhibitions on display through summer at the museum include “Harmless Hunter: The Wildlife Work of Charles M. Russell,” “Elegy: The African Photography of Nick Brandt 2001 – 2008,” “Conservation Gallery,” and “The Odd Couple: A New Pairing of Thought Provoking Art.” Upcoming summer events include the Plein Air Fest on June 21 and a variety of additional outdoor Sculpture Trail activities from evening Mix’d Media parties to free Yoga on the Trail classes. See the museum website for a full schedule of events and exhibitions.

TripAdvisor® uses a proprietary algorithm that takes into account reviews ratings to select its Certificate of Excellence winners. According to TripAdvisor, “Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and recency of reviews. Additional criteria include a business’ tenure and popularity ranking on the site.” TripAdvisor branded sites make up the largest travel community in the world, reaching nearly 260 million unique monthly visitors and more than 150 million reviews and opinions covering more than 4 million accommodations, restaurants and attractions.

A member of the Association of Art Museum Directors and the Museums West consortium and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum, officially designated the National Museum of Wildlife Art of the United States by an act of Congress in 2008, provides an exciting calendar of exhibitions from its permanent collection and changing exhibitions from around the globe. A complete schedule of exhibitions and events is available online at www.wildlifeart.org. The museum is also active on Facebook and on Twitter at @WildlifeArtJH.
