My OMEI: Observe, Meditate, Experience, Internalize

Sunday, January 18, 2015 · 3 to 4 pm
Offered on the first and third Sundays of the month, this innovative program was developed to cultivate the art of looking closely and feeling deeply through meditation and focused reflection upon a few pieces of art at a time. Visit the galleries twice per month to bring the focus back onto yourself and connect with others through the art. A great way to relax and recharge!

Herman Silverman: Memories from a Life Well Lived
Sunday, February 8, 2015 · 3 to 4 pm
Herman Silverman’s delightful and insightful talk will highlight 95 years of accomplishments. A nationally successful entrepreneur, and a gifted storyteller, Silverman is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees and a Founder of the James A. Michener Art Museum. He is also author of the book, Michener and Me, in which he chronicles his 50-year friendship with the award-winning author.

Art History Lecture
The Artist in the Garden: Explorations of the Magical and the Real

Presented by Kirsten Jensen, Ph.D., Senior Curator of Exhibitions, Michener Art Museum

The lecturer examines the relationship between artists, social and industrial change, and the garden landscape in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Jazz Night, featuring The Noah Preminger Group
Saturday, February 28, 2015 · 8 to 11 pm
Noah Preminger, a Brooklyn-based saxophone phenom, will be accompanied by an all-star rhythm section with renowned musicians: Dan Tepfer on piano, Ed Howard on bass and Rudy Royston on drums. Purchase tickets early – Jazz Night sells out quickly.

Special Collaboration: Bucks County Playhouse and the Michener Art Museum present
Thursday evenings, February 5 through May 2, 2015 · 6 to 9 pm
In this special collaboration between the James A. Michener Art Museum and Bucks County Playhouse, participants will use theatre techniques to develop and perform stories from their own lives, inspired by the breathtaking sculptures of the great Auguste Rodin.

Ladies Night Out: An Evening in France
March 6, 2015 · 6:30 to 9:30 pm
Women will create a plaster over wire figure sculpture inspired by Rodin: The Human Experience – Selections from the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Collections. A few French treats will be added to our usual array of refreshments. C’est magnifique!

NEW! An Artist’s Garden: Adult Art Workshop
April 22, 2015 · 10 am to Noon
Combine a visit to the galleries with a hands-on adventure in this new informal and informative art class for adults. Explore your creative side and leave the museum with a completed work of art, and plenty of stories to share. Adult artists and creative explorers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
