Young women students meet aerospace mentors
SEATTLE – On March 19-20 the Museum will host WomenFly, an annual, motivational event for young women interested in aviation and aerospace careers. Over 100 middle school and high school students from across the state will participate in inspirational and career-oriented workshops led by dozens of exceptional women working in aerospace-related fields. This year’s special guests include U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Kelly Deutermann, and Jessica Cox, a renowned motivational speaker and the first armless pilot. The event’s theme is “Saving the World Through Aviation.”
WomenFly programs are March 19-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., March 19 programs are for young women in grades 6-8; March 20 programs are for grades 9-12.
Registration for WomenFly is open until filled. The $15 registration fee includes lunch and tee shirt. Financial assistance is available for travel and registration. It is possible to register as an individual or group:
