UMFA’s Third Saturday for Families Program Celebrates Latino Art

Salt Lake City –Third Saturday for Families, the popular, free art-making event hosted monthly at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA), will celebrate Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art on Saturday, April 18.

From 1–4 pm families are invited to explore this landmark exhibition from the Smithsonian American Art Museum that features more than 80 works of art from more than 60 of the country’s most influential Latino artists. Visitors of all ages and abilities can explore poster art, a unique and important art form, by creating their own designs. Club Cultural Quetzalcoatl will perform an interactive dance in the Great Hall at 2 pm and 3 pm. A treasure hunt and story time in the Museum Store will round out the afternoon’s schedule of activities.
