July 4 brings Big Band Night and St. Michaels’ fireworks to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, along with The Shades of Blue Orchestra, who are returning for a live performance following their 2014 Big Band Night debut. The rain date for the event and fireworks is Sunday, July 5.
With a new policy and for safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on museum grounds during Big Band Night and all museum festivals, with the exception of certified service dogs. Leashed dogs are permitted on CBMM grounds during regular business hours.
Entrance to Big Band Night begins at 6 p.m., with the orchestra slated to start at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for CBMM members and $10 for non-members, with children ages 5 and under admitted free. Admission is reduced at 8:45 p.m. for watching the fireworks from the Museum’s campus. Patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs. Food, ice cream, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the event, which is generously sponsored by Eastern Shore Tents & Events.
