CINCINNATI – Do you know someone who works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of children? Cincinnati Museum Center wants to honor them at our eighth annual Duke Energy Children’s Museum Difference Makers Awards on February 6, 2016. But you have to nominate them first!
The Difference Makers program recognizes those people who work to make a difference in the lives of children and the communities in which they grow, learn and play. We want to honor the unsung heroes – the grandmothers and foster parents, the volunteers and small community organizations, the teenagers and budding child advocates – along with larger organizations and professionals who make the Greater Cincinnati region a better place for children.
“This is an exciting opportunity to honor the people who humbly make a difference for children every day,” says Donna Zaring, corporate communications director at Truepoint Wealth Counsel and chair of the 2016 Difference Makers Awards. “Our mission is to honor these often unsung heroes and inspire the next generation of difference makers growing up in our communities.”
Past honorees were nominated for baking cookies and donating the proceeds to local charitable organizations; operating a lemonade stand and using the proceeds to buy food for a local food pantry; using classical music to bring children of different ethnic and economic classes together; helping pregnant and parenting teens to raise children while continuing to pursue their dreams; and much more.
We are now accepting nominations in the following categories:

Adult Volunteer – unpaid individuals

“There are incredible individuals and organizations throughout our community who are taking it upon themselves to build a brighter future for children right here in the Greater Cincinnati region,” says Elizabeth Pierce, president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “Our Duke Energy Children’s Museum is proud to have an impact in the lives of children but we can’t do it alone and we are humbled every year to meet and celebrate those in the community who share our passion for healthy childhood development.”
